A NEW HISTORY - The Rebirth

May 2007 - On May 18th 2007 The Bankies won 2-0 on a wet Friday night against Lanark United, thus securing promotion as Central First Division Runner-Up (Won 15, D4, L5). A crowd of 834 turnout out in inclement weather to see Bankies book their place in the Super League First Division with Kirkintilloch Rob Roy going up as Champions. The club reached the Sectional League Cup Final after qualifying through Group 6 and seeing off Lesmahagow (2-1), and Rutherglen (2-1) en-route to the grand final. This time Bankies were on the receiving end of a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Pollok. An estimated 1500 fans watched the final at Maryhill. 500 spectators saw Clydebank make a first round exit in the SJFA Cup at the hands of Glenafton. Another large crowd of more 600 spectators cheered Bankies onto an important league derby victory over Yoker on Monday 24th April 2007. Clydebank also enjoyed a 2-1 home friendly win over Senior opposition Alloa Athletic (SFL2) and beat Stenhousemuir (SFL3) 2-0 in a friendly at Ochilview.

May 2006 - Clydebank finished 8th in the Central League First Division (Won 10, D2, L10). The club survived a 7-game long SJFA Cup campaign, reaching the Quarter Finals. 4 double decker busloads and a huge car-pool made the journey to Tayport to take on the cup holders. After a 1-1 draw there was another mouthwatering encounter to come in the replay.... 1142 fans packed into Glenhead but they saw Bankies lose out to Tayport on penalties after another 1-1 draw. The atmosphere at the two games will long be remembered by Bankies fans.

May 2005 - Clydebank finished 3rd in the Central League First Division (Won 12, D2, L7) narrowly missing out on promotion by a point. 600 fans saw Bankies win 4-0 on the last day versus Benburb but Dunipace's injury time goal versus Yoker sent them up in 2nd place. The club reached Round 3 of the SJFA Cup and Round 3 of the West of Scotland Cup.

May 2004 - Clydebank FC won the Central League Second Division Championship (Won 20, D2, L2). Carluke and Yoker were promoted as runners-up. Bankies exited the SJFA Cup at the hands of Blackburn after a First Round Replay and Extra-time. The club reached the 4th Round of the West of Scotland Cup. Around 600 fans (and the Sportscene cameras) turned out to see the First competitive game since the club's rebirth - a 3-2 win v St Roch's at Glenhead Park. 772 hardy fans turned out on a freezing cold day for the League derby clash (3-2 win) versus Yoker in January. May 15th saw the title being won against Coltness with one game to spare - 972 spectators witnessed the club win its first silverware since the comeback. Clydebank lost twice in friendly matches to Senior opponents: 0-4 vs Partick Thistle (SPL) and 0-2 vs Stranraer (SFL3).

June 2003 - Clydebank's Application to join the Scottish Junior Football Association is accepted. Clydebank will participate in West Region, beginning in Central League Second Division starting in August 2003. The club is to be sponsored by Clyde Shopping Centre. Fans are working hard on the Glenhead Park ground to get it prepared to stage Junior football after an absence of 3 decades.
