Vale of Leven 2 - 6 Clydebank

Sectional League Cup (Group 9)

Timeline

  • Date of Birth

Kyle was born on this date in .

  • Clydebank opened their competitive season with what looks like a resounding victory over their county rivals Vale of Leven in the Sectional League Cup at Millburn Park. However, the performance was much less emphatic and although the Bankies were comfortable in the end, the Vale did not deserve to be on the end of such a scoreline. The Bankies front three all opened their scoring accounts with Aaron Millar being the star grabbing a third hat trick in only five matches.

  • As expected, there was to be no repeat of the 8-1 thrashing the Bankies handed out to Yoker just two weeks ago in the friendly to open the new facility at Holm Park. In truth, Clydebank never reached the same heights and never looked likely to, and Yoker were a much improved outfit. In the end, the Bankies won handily scoring four times but it was a tad harsh on the Whe-ho who worked tirelessly and only had a Gregor Cree strike to show for their efforts.

  • Well it didn’t take long for the wheels to come off Clydebank’s season. Today it felt like we were careering down a hill out of control with no one at the helm. With no disrespect to Rossvale, these are the teams we should be beating at home if we have any pretensions towards the top half of the table. Instead, we were presented with a car crash of a performance where the Premiership new boys could have scored ten but had to settle for three.

  • Last Appearance - Clydebank 5 - 2 Kilbirnie Lade

Three goals in a blistering eight minute spell turned this match in Clydebank’s favour, as they ran out handsome winners in the end against a battling Kilbirnie side. It also gave Kieran McAnespie’s side a first confidence boosting league win of the season
