GLENHEAD PARK

Clydebank play home matches at Glenhead Park based in the Duntocher district at the north of Clydebank. The stadium currently has a covered enclosure and there are plans to increase the capacity by recovering disused terraces.

To signify when there are Clydebank matches on at the ground the flag of Clydebank FC will be raised on the flagpole of the Social Club.

In Autumn 2002 Clydebank FC agreed a four year groundshare deal to play at Glenhead Park in Duntocher beginning season 2003/04. We are very grateful to our hosts Drumchapel Amateurs for accommodating us and look forward to working with them in the seasons ahead.

Clydebank v Partick Thistle at Glenhead (Oct 2003)

From the outset both parties agreed upon ambitious plans to refurbish the ground. Most of our key proposals were achieved in our first season:

  • Replacing the enclosure roof
  • Concreting under the enclosure
  • Clearance of the overgrown hillside area
  • Tidy up the entrance area and erect perimeter fencing
  • PA system. A mobile catering unit provides food on matchday
  • Improve drainage.
  • Reclaim old terracing behind the goals (railway sleepers and banking).
  • Install advertising
  • Build Home and Away dug-outs
  • Assist in ground maintenance duties.

MATCH PROGRAMME

Clydebank Programmes from Season 2001/02Where can I buy them?
Programmes are on sale inside the ground near the entrance on matchdays.

How much?
A bargain!! Programmes cost £1

What features are in it?
The Clydebank FC match programme has a glossy red and white cover. Inside you can expect to read the latest news about the club, supporters info, player profiles, a quiz, match reports, photographs, and (when possible) some details about our opponents.

How to contribute to the programme
Anyone who would like to contribute to the programme should send their material to Paul Cummings or to the Editor, Alun Urquhart (see email links below). They would be delighted to receive articles or e-mails for publication.

Advertising Opportunities
Are you interested in advertising in the match pragramme? You can run a series of quarter-page, half-page adverts, or full-page adverts with costs ranging from £30-£100. Please contact Alun Urquhart or Paul Cummings for more details.

SOCIAL CLUB - "The Hibby"

Some cool drinks! In the main door of the clubhouse and up the staircase is the social club. Facilities include TV, Pool Table, Karaoke, Quizzes, 2 Fruit Machines and of course...DRINK. Reminiscent of the old Bankies Club in the way it is located behind the goals offering a view of the park from the clubhouse windows. Very popular amongst the locals and known locally as "The Hibby" due to the park's previous association with the now defunct Duntocher Hibs. Bankies fans are encouraged to purchase an annual membership which presently lightens the pocket by a paltry £3.

TRAVEL GUIDE

Road: Supporters travelling from Glasgow by car should exit the city in a north-westerly direction by following road signs for the A82 (Clydebank and Dumbarton route). Travel on the A82 for around 6 miles until you reach the large Kilbowie roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout to head up Kilbowie Road (A8014) towards Hardgate. Stay on this road until you reach the next roundabout where you turn left onto Duntocher Road. Drive along this road and turn right at the Glenhead Tavern. Then turn right again to reach the ground.

Parking Spaces: Limited parking inside the ground (roughly 32 cars but most probably to be used by players on match days) and some parking available in streets around the ground. A small inshot offers a few parking spaces in Farm Road. Apart from these designated spaces it should be noted that both Farm Road and Beeches Road are on the local bus route and no parking will be permitted on those streets.

Rail: A number of services run from Central Station and Queen Street Station in Glasgow. For train times we recommend you check with the Scotrail timetable. Passengers should alight at Singer Station and allow for a 25 minute walk to Glenhead Park. Allow additional time if you alight at Clydebank Station. Click here for a map with the local railway stations.

Buses: Bus services run from Glasgow City Centre to Duntocher Old Street and there are other various services from Clydebank bus station which pass the vicinity of Duntocher. The TravelineScotland.com website has more information on bus timetables.
