BACKGROUND & AIMS

The creation of our Supporters Trust provides a vehicle for Clydebank fans to own a share in their club and for the members to work together to generate vital funds. The more people who pledge their support, the better chance we have of developing a successful Clydebank FC.

Much has been achieved in the short time the UCS Football Trust has been operating. Funds have been channeled towards the improvement of our home ground at Glenhead Park so we can now watch our team in better and more comfortable surroundings. The management team at the club has also enjoyed the benefits of our efforts as they have attracted a strong squad of players to the club which won the Abercorn Second Division Championship in 2003/04.

The team only just missed out on a second successive promotion on the last day of 2004/05 and in 2005/06 they consolodated their position in the First Division whilst going on an epic Scottish Cup run - only failing to knock out the holders after a replay and penalty kicks.

In season 2006/07 the management steered the team into the Final of the Sectional League Cup. Clydebank played bravely against their Super League opponents but lost 2-1 to Pollok in the Final. It was a great occasion to be involved in and left everyone craving more. promotion to the Super League was achieved at the third time of asking and the club are now looking forward to the 2007/08 season in the Super League First Division.

Off the park the Trust has supported the community through sponsorship of local supporters teams and individuals. The trust has also backed local charity campaigns. It has represented the fans during consultations with Supporters Direct and other organisations. For a considerable time our reprentatives have been in discussion with various parties concerning the need for new sports stadium in the town.

The fresh challenge is to keep momentum going and to build upon what we have achieved. It is our chance to show other clubs how successful a football club can be when placed in the hands of the fans. If you haven't joined the trust then please think about it. Best of all, the Trust members will have a real voice in Clydebank Football Club since the Trust has majority ownership.

The Trust Aims to:

Provide long-term stable and democratic ownership of the football club.

Generate funding for the purpose of investment in Clydebank FC.

Promote the club within the local community and pursue a new stadium facility in the town.

Be a role-model for other football trusts and forge links with other similar organisatons.

Make Clydebank FC flourish within Junior football.
