Tony Fitzpatrick was appointed as caretaker manager of Clydebank FC in February 2001 after the removal of Tommy Coyne by prospective buyer of the club, David McGhie.
Tony had achieved legendary status at St Mirren as both player and manager, and it didn't seem like a comfortable fit when he took over at the Bankies. He had been acting on a consultancy basis to the club prior to his appointment, and he made it crystal clear that he wasn't interested in the job permanently. He was assisted by Fraser Wishart during the period.
He left the post at the end of the season as the Bankies finished the season in a mid-table position.
