Match Report

Daily Record

Tragedy hit the Rovers in this 2-2 draw with Clydebank when defender Liddell was ordered off in the 33rd minute. Seconds earlier he had been in a tussle with Ruddy but apparently he must have said something as Referee Hunter, after taking his name, pointed to the pavilion.

Clydebank had made most of the early running and in the second minute a good drive by Caskie saw Brown dive full length to save.

Then in the 20th minute a pass from Caskie to Wilson again had Brown saving.

Almost half an hour elapsed before Rovers threatened with a long range shot from Green, which flashed narrowly over the bar.

Then Caskie missed a chance when at close range he shot into Brown's arms.

Clydebank went ahead less than a minute after the restart. From the edge of the box Jackson took a free kick and Wilson headed home while Brown stood rooted to the spot.

Then in the 53rd minute Fallon put the Bankies further ahead with a penalty goal after Currie had palmed down a Jackson shot.

In the 56th minute Halliday replaced Rice. Four minutes later Rovers pulled one back when Green netted from a Kerr pass.

In the 75th minute Kerr got the equaliser. The move started with Halliday, was carried on by Rogerson, who headed on for Kerr to knock the ball home.
