Match Report

Clydebank returned to winning ways with an impressive 4–2 victory over Queens Park Strollers in Glasgow, recording their second win of the season in the Combined Reserve League. Though the match was nominally held at Hampden Park, it is unclear whether the fixture took place on the main pitch or at the adjacent Lesser Hampden.

After a quiet opening, Clydebank were first to threaten when O'Brien met a corner with a first-time effort that went narrowly wide. The Queens responded by stepping up the tempo and were rewarded on 25 minutes when I. Campbell opened the scoring with a well-taken goal.

The setback seemed to spark Clydebank into life, and they quickly gained the upper hand. O'Brien brought the sides level after 33 minutes, and shortly afterwards McLeish embarked on a solo run before hammering home a powerful finish to give the visitors the lead before half-time.

Unfortunately, no detailed record of the second half has survived, but it is known that Clydebank added two more goals after the interval to seal a 4–2 win. The scorers of those goals remain unconfirmed.

Despite the gaps in the historical record, the result itself stands as further evidence of Clydebank’s growing momentum. Their attacking display—particularly in the latter stages of the first half—once again showed the quality and ambition of a side determined to establish themselves on a senior footing.
