Match Report

A difficult tussle at Kilbowie Park Friday last finally proved victorious for Clydebank when they met Queens Park in a Combined Reserve League match.

The goal that clinched the match was a penalty taken by Tony Moy. He slammed home the spot kick just before the final whistle. Tony netted the home team's first goal in the opening half.

Although Bankies only held a 1-0 lead at the interval the restart displayed their better side. Their tactics were brisk and when it came to scoring the forwards continually sent the ball bulleting goalwards.

But Queens can give their keeper full marks for his brilliant play. Some of the saves he produced were applauded by the small crowd of supporters. The 21 year old inside left Alex Stewart, Bankies new signing from Maryhill Juniors deserves a large share of credit in Clydebank's forward line.

On his first Combined Reserve game with the town's senior team he played very constructively throughout the game.

The two points are badly needed for Clydebank's league placing.
