Alloa Athletic
Head to Head

Alloa are one of a number of clubs that the Bankies faced many times in their first decade in senior football, only to have sporadic meetings thereafter. After the Bankies won the second division title in 1975-76, the club spent over twenty years in the upper leagues. This meant meetings with Alloa only occurred whenever they were promoted themselves to the higher leagues. Alloa managed this on a number of occasions and overall the head to head is fairly even with Bankies ahead marginally. The most notable games were Alloa's incredible 7-2 win at Kilbowie in 1983, and the 0-0 draw at Recreation Park which earned the Bankies the Second Division Championship in 1976. Only a point was required to win the title but Clydebank never do things the easy way, so Norrie Hall missing a penalty will come as no surprise. Alloa were still in with a chance of promotion themselves so the Bankies were hanging on towards the end, but hold on they did.
