Scotland boss Jock Stein saw that prolific goalscorer, Blair Millar, snatch victory for Clydebank three minutes from time in a disappointing game at Kilbowie on Tuesday.
But the real star of the show was youngster Tom Coyne, who equalised after 66 minutes for Bankies - his third goal in only three games for the club.
He harried a rather shaky Accies defence all night and almost gave Clydebank the lead after 22 minutes when he headed narrowly over the bar from a Gerry Ronald cross.
Hamilton took a surprise lead in the 42nd minute when former Partick Thistle striker Joe Craig lost his marker and headed in a Howie cross.
Jim Given hit the post as Bankies pushed for a second-half equaliser and Tom Coyne grabbed the vital goal when he smacked home a Miller flick.
It was Millar himself who won the points with an easy tap-in after Hamilton keeper Rikki Ferguson had parried a Hughes shot.
