Bankies faced a harsh defeat against newly promoted Morton at Cappielow on Saturday in their final game of the season.
Although dubbed a "friendly," both teams played with intensity, leaving no room for relaxation.
Bankies showcased their new team for the upcoming season and showed promise in the initial twenty minutes, hinting at a potential upset.
However, their early dominance faded quickly, allowing Morton to seize control. Bartram's penalty goal after 25 minutes initiated the scoring spree. He added a second before half-time, followed by goals from Mason and Stevenson, solidifying Morton's lead.
While the scoreline favoured Morton's goal-scoring prowess, neither team found much satisfaction in the friendly match. Despite a better collective understanding, Morton's performance was offset by players lacking proficiency in distribution.
Although the home team maintained control, the Bankies were mostly reliant on spirit alone and never really posed a serious threat. Both clubs must bolster their line-ups ahead of the next season.
Bankies Archive Note: The last paragraph must have stung the Steedmans, considering they fielded seven new signings specifically for the upcoming season.
