It would be 13 years before the sides would meet again, when Albion Rovers were promoted themselves. It would be another ten years before the final meeting in 2000. Clydebank were strong in the early years despite a 5-3 reversal in the first meeting. Rovers had a spell of five victories in a row in the early 70s before the Bankies moved up a gear. The most well known meeting between the sides would have been the Bankies 4-3 victory at Broomfield in 1989. Unusually, this match was televised by Sportscene who hurriedly covered this encounter after the game at Motherwell that they were meant to be filming was called off. They were not disapointed as the goals rained in.
