Match Report

At Shawfield, Clydebank got back on the rails after the previous week's disaster at Hamilton.

Blair Millar was the hero with a brilliantly taken second half double. The big surprise for Bankies fans before the match was that John McCormick was relegated to the bench. It was the first time John had not started a match in the first team for over two years.

In the first half Clyde, lying t the foot of the table looked, if anything, the brighter side. But their attractive leading up play was never matched up front.

Bankies were totally on top after the break. They deservedly went ahead in the 49th minute. Tony Gervaise was brought down by Brogan. Gerry McLaughlin blasted the free kick and the ball spun from McWilliams grasp straight to Millar who made no mistake from close in.

The home side brought on Dolan and McAlpine for Kennedy and Brogan, while Bankies introduced McCormick for the ineffectual Gerry Ronald.

And that was the signal for them to step up into first gear.

First McCormick had the ball in the net only for McIntyre to be pulled up for offside.

And then three minutes from time Millar made sure of victory with a crisply taken goal from eight yards.
